Hotel Astruc Elysées * * *

The bed (room 14) was very very soft. No shower door/curtain which makes showering a bit difficult, better to take a bath.

- the hotel is very noisy (sounds from the street and from adjacent rooms)

MIX up with booking and they made us pay MORE when it wasnt our mistake, AND they had 9 months after we booked to be told but nothing til we checked in. First receptionist lacked communication skills. Cleaning of rooms below standard. Could hear EVERYTHING going on in next door rooms. Had to climb over cleaning and maitenance materials on stairway. Mattress and pillows lumpy and disgusting. Television fine if you are French only. Breakfast was disgusting, stale, bland and had to share a croissant as they ran out. Strong smell of smoke. Windows not double glazed so could also hear people walking on below footpaths all night. Anytime the plumbing was used in the building it was extremely loud as the pipes are running overhead. Stayed in 7 hotels in 7 countries and this is the only one given negative comments. We are Australian and fairly laid back but this hotel needs to be AVOIDED! Not 3 star accomodation, more like backpackers but not priced like it.

Very basic room - you get what you pay for

Staff were friendly, but had issues with the overall bill (no computer system for billing) I had my credit card charged three times, because they could not figure the bill properly. Also I had to move rooms after one night and had to pay for a higher priced room than I had originally agreed to. The hotel needs a little work in the rooms (new carpeting, beds, wallpaper) Also wi-fi is only available on the first and second floor or in the lobby. In addition every night the staff was up laughing and smoking in the courtyard, which made sleep impossible. I had close the windows and turn on the air to get some sleep. The bed I had the first night was so poor, I gave serious thought to sleeping on the floor. When I arrived and looked at the bath room there were hairs everywhere. I am not concerned with a couple of hairs, but it had obviously not been cleaned (water glasses still had toothpaste residue). I have stayed at the hotel three times now, and I am very reluctant to make a fourth stay.

Shower has now currain and so all the bathroom and toilet gets wett when taking a shower. Hotel needs some renovation.

The staff stays up all hours of the night, making it very hard to sleep. They were being very loud in the court yard area and I was not able to sleep. It was not acceptable for paying customers.

Price is a little expensive.

To not so good: At check-in we had a young lady give us a wrong room (we had booked with bath and she gave a small room with shower only. .. .we had to go back to the reception to mention it to her. .. ..

No parking

The shower didn't have a door or curtain so the whole bathroom would get soaked after every shower.

Corridors should be lit up especially at night when it is dark and we can't see the door to the room, rooms could use a kettle or coffee/tea making facilities

Nothing crosses my mind

Carperts are dirty and keep some bad smells.

Cleaning staff made assumptions about what we wanted rather than just making the beds and replacing towels and toiletries

Receptionist was in deep sleep at midnight, we had to ring the door bell for 10 min to get into the hotel room service advertised but when trying to order food, I was advised that this service does not exist on a Sunday (which is not explained in the booklet) thank god a few meters down the road there is a pizza service where I could order myself: why did the hotel not offer this service? the rooms and 1, 40 m beds are far too small and the advertising/pictures on the internet are pretty misleading All in all, the service and the rooms are the worst we have experienced in any of the Chataux hotels we have visited

The door was difficult to open to the room. The internet only worked on certain floors.
