Charming hotel located in the heart of Latin Quarter. At 5 minutes from Notre-Dame Cathedral, 10 minutes from Saint-Germain des Prés and 2 blocks from Saint-Germain boulevard.

Sorbonne University is at 1 block. And in front College de France Gardens.

20 minutes by walk from Le Louvre and all majors monuments in Paris

Hotel Claude Bernard is located in the center of Latin Quarter. A boutique hotel in the latin quarter, the intellectual heart of Paris. The hotel's location is a great advantage if you want to really enjoy the old Paris and it's great history. With it's many small streets with plenty of restaurants, bars, bookshops, brasseries, theater, and department stores around Saint-Michel boulevard. Luxembourg garden is at 8 minutes (perfect for jogging or nice walking without stress !). At 3 minutes from the hotel, La "piscine Pontoise", a olympic pool covered and fitness centre opened every day (except sunday) until midnight !

Nice walking around Notre Dame and Le Marais with a lot of boutiques, restaurants and bars.

Unfortunately the breakfast was not given even at 7:10 , ( even the criossants arrived. .) so I will suggest to have breakfast ready at 7:00. The room was very noisy due to some clients from the room 22 and from the 3rd floor, respectively 31, and the staff responsible at the frontdesk on the night of 24/25 of November did not react to this terrible noisy clients!

Should not be a three star hotel. Two at best. The hotel is very worn and not clean, the rooms are cheaply decorated and not cleaned. I had bed bugs in my room 46.

Pros

Easy to get to from metro/RER. Nice cafe across the road for breakfast/lunch. Close to Notre Dame, Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens.

Noisy road outside which was still audible with balcony doors shut. Noisy air-con even when not turned on. When it was turned on the temperature and speed could not be adjusted so you just got whatever the hotel thought it should be set to, this meant you couldn't use it to cool the room down. First room even though booked as a double was simply 2 singles pushed together. In order to get an actual double bed we had to move to a room half the size. Water pressure in second bedroom shower was very poor compared to the first room.

Ideally situated within a 5 minute walk of Maubert Mutualite metro and a 10 minute walk from the Saint-Michel Notre Dame RER. Lots of dining options in the surroundings. Walking distance from Ile de la Cite, Notre Dame, and Left Bank cafes and restaurants.

Acoustic isolation between rooms is not that great. The wifi hotspot seems to be located only in the lobby, so first-floor rooms seem to get marginal reception, but higher floors may not be able to get any at all. Shower drain plumbing wasn't very good; the shower took a while to drain.

The night time staff ( 1 person only) didn't know anything about anything. Breakfast was terrible, only bread and cheese ( not even fresh cheese just packed cheese ) NO hAM, only orange juice. Our room had 2 balconies, great, but the furniture was run-down, no handles. No small refrigerator for goodies to buy. The elevator was so small it could only carry 2 luggages at the same time.

I love this hotel. Everything for me is a 10. I have stayed here most of my visits to Paris for 30 years. For two years I stayed at the Hotel de Crillon and YES, I prefer the Claude Bernard!!!!

Good Staff and Services. Free WiFi Modern Air Condition and Heating The Continental Breakfast is good (but see the cons). Best location in Paris, near the university, so also very nice people around; nice Cafe's, nice small restaurants with reasonable prices.

Little noisy because most of rooms are by the street, but it's acceptable. Windows blocking most of noise. The breakfast could be upgraded (not too expensive) with some more (1 or 2) types of cheese and some type of local Salami or a like. Suggest put a small coffee machine / small pot for boiling water for coffee or tea in the room (you not always want to go down for a coffee).

Great location. My Fiance and I loved the hotel and the staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. I would definatly go back to paris and i would stay here again with out a doubt. The water pressure and temperture of the showers were the best we had over europe. All main site were within an hours walk with some as close as 10 minutes.

We were given 2 single beds rather than a double. As we got engaged in Paris it was a slight inconvienence and i was illergic to the feather pillows. these were the only cons I can think of which are not big issuse at all. Overall it was a great place to stay.

In the heart of the Latin Quarter, down the road from the Sorbonne. Lovely view from the balcony towards the street. (Some rooms face the courtyard; I cannot comment on their view. ) Boulangerie across the street Monoprix supermarket three blocks away, Monop convenience shop three blocks away. Easy walk to Notre Dame, Pompidou Centre and many other sights. Close to metro. Rental bicycles parked in front of hotel. Very quiet road (compared to other roads in the vicinity, such as bd Saint-Michel and Bd Saint-Germaine).

The lift is a typical European lift; either you or your baggage travels. Actually it's a pro - you never have to share the lift with anyone -:) Typical European room: smallish, with double bed against the wall. Typical European SSS bathroom - shave, shower and s. .. at the same time! But this is as good as it gets in this price range.

The night receptionist, always sleeping when we arrived, entrance hall completely in the dark. Breakfast staff never gave a smile, seemed to be doing their job only. Lift ridiculously too small (too people only, facing each other, literally noses touching), but as an old Paris hotel, that´s quite understandable.
