The hotel was renovated in 2008 and is a member of the “Chateaux and Hotels Collection”. The hotel provides a comfortable haven in the heart of lively Montparnasse, located on the mythical rue de la Gaîté which is known for its many theatres, cabarets and restaurants.

Excellent location in the centre of Paris, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars and close to metro station and still very quiet rooms. Very good bathroom / shower standard, well above what is often found in French hotels, even though small. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

We had booked a family room we knew already from a previous stay. The room in question had been shown on the picture of the room I have booked via internet. On arrival we were given two rooms with a connecting door on 4th floor which were no comparison to the room we had been in before. Room picture in internet did not match the booked room.

The location is very central to much of the Left Bank sights, and there are many restaurants and shopping places nearby, including the fabulous markets. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Some spoke very good English. Good breakfasts were served to start the day.

Rooms are small and the pillows were flimsy. Wi-Fi was a little spotty, but PCs were available for the guests in the lobby.

Centrally located, walking distance to most places. Montparnasse is a gem in the heart of Paris, loads of bars and resturants, and not too pricey. The whole area is laid back and great for relaxing in after a days site seeing.

Room is very small - expected for Paris I suppose. Bed is VERY creaky, does not provide a good night's sleep because it creaks every time I move. Sound proofing in the room is VERY bad, because our neighbor's bed is very creaky too - and they were very 'active' throughout the night! Didn't get a single good night's sleep the 3 nights I was there.

Very quiet rooms (to the back) although situated in a street with quite some pubs and restaurants. Very good infrastructre like two close Metro stations, bars, cafes and restaurants (among others also some japanes ones). Walking distance to Jardin du Luxembourg

Size of the bathroom - you can not sit on the toilet without hitting the bathroom sink better able to clean most employees are extremely friendly, but one in particular is extremely coarse, rude e antipathetic(high and with shaven heads - care), only friendly with French guests. It is here recorded my complaint in an attempt to improve the service
