General reviews about the hotel

Having stayed there 12 years ago, we felt very much at home returning to the renovated hotel. It is extremely well located. The amenities are wonderful. .. very nice breakfast room, very congenial, helpful staff. The hotel was very clean and orderly. The public areas were beautifully done in handsome fabrics. The bar was especially nice in red leather. It is always nice to return to a place you enjoyed, only to find that it is even better than it was when you last visited. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The recommendation of dining at Chez Francis was really appreciated. It was Phillip's birthday, and we celebrated with a fabulous dinner with the Eiffel Tower in the background. What a wonderful evening. We also used the hotel's taxi service which was prompt, courteous, and got us to the airport in good time.

The air conditioning unit in our suite was wholly inadequate, barely cooling the sleeping area and with an absence of any venting in the hallway, bath or shower areas, was totally useless and necessitated that we sleep with windows open and that we open the bath window while showering. This is wholly unacceptable for a 4-star hotel, especially in a suite. As well, the offering of international cable channels was limited and the quality of the TV mediocre, aslo by comparison. With the exception of one young woman on duty on the afternoon of 4 October, we found the rest of the staff which we encountered to be standoffish, indifferent and not at all cordial. Lastly, no coffee availability at 630am on Wednesday morning prior to our departure was also unacceptable and wholly inconsistent with other hotels in Paris of equal standing. These issues will give us pause when considering whether we will return to this hotel.

-Courteous and professional staff. Very helpful with dinner recommendations and suggested tour itinerary. -Large room, facing the street with balcony, room was quiet and spacious. -Breakfast served until 1230. -The hotel is very nicely appointed, with two large sitting areas, as well as a bar with a lounge. -Located just two blocks south from the Champs Elysee, and three blocks north of Seine River, the hotel is excellently situated to some of the best shopping in Paris as well as many excellent restaurants.
