Friendly staff - couldn't do enough for us. Nice atmosphere - Good ambience. Very helpful local and general advice from the staff. Although economical - good facilities. Very pleasant Breakfast. Nice unhurried part of Paris - village like. Excellent atmosphere by St Martin's Canal. Plenty of good cafes and bars, used by locals. Recommended.

Pros

The hotel was very handy arriving into Gare de l'Est - only a 5 minute walk away. It was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. The canal area close by was great for little restaurants and some quirky shops.

The smallest elevator possible, 300 kg for 4 persons, :-), yes this is France = 75 kg on average. So no real cons

Friendly and helpful staff. My backpack and passport were stolen while riding the train. The receptionist Natalie was extremely helpful extending my stay, notifying the police, and advising me on places to purchase replacement backpack and other personal items. The hotel is 5 minutes away from the train and metro station Gare de l'Est.

The second room I got suffered from poor sound isolation. I could hear people snoring around me at night, and I woke up on Sunday morning because of the noise coming through the wall. The rooms do not have air conditioning. It was not a problem during my stay in October, but it is likely to be a problem in the summer.

I was on the third floor (fourth in USA) and the "free wi-fi" was not available to me. Looked like there were too few sites in hotel. Got it fine in lobby/breakfast area.

The afternoon/evening porter was extremely friendly and helpful. He was a pleasure to deal with upon return from a long day shopping and site seeing. Good value for money and location - tucked away from most of the tourist traps but within walking distance of many.

No air conditioning and as the room was street facing, it was not possible to keep the window open to alleviate the room temperate without suffering from noise disturbance. On another, arguably pedantic point, there was an exposed water pipe beside our bed which hissed endlessly throughout the night.

Very few. Bed and Breakfast Hotel - so no Bar or Dining Room, but plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars close by. The rooms can get warm in summer (no air conditioning), and fair amount of traffic noise if windows open for ventilation (expected).

It was advertised on the web site that there was air conditioning, however this was not true. So room was very hot the entire time and it was difficult to sleep. Also our first floor room had a view of a wall. breakfast not included. Will stay somewhere else next time.

No airconditioning in the hotel (3 stars!). Fortunately we did not need it (not so very hot summer), but still. .. I think every 3 star hotel should have airco. Furthermore, there was no mini bar in the room. Beverages and other things could be ordered, but if you like to use the mini bar as a fridge for beverages you have bought from say the supermarket, it is a real let down.

Unfortunately, the elevator was not working when we checked out of the hotel, requiring that we lug our 25 kg bags down from the 3 rd storey.
