Good location, on a quiet street; friendly and helpful staff; the room is compact and basic but very clean. Easy access to lots of restaurants and cafes, also close to the Republique metro.

The only 2 English-speaking tv channels were CNN and BBC World News, which isn't helpful when you have a bored 10 year old. As I mentioned, the room is very clean - the downside of that is that the cleaner starts very early in the morning and as all the rooms are so close together in the hotel, you can hear everything. As a consequence we were woken up early every morning of our 5 day stay.

- The airconditioning wasn't working, so we had to open the window for ventilation, but on the streetside it's very noisy. When the window is closed you won't hear anything.

Pros

The hotel is situated near to the city centre and close to three Métro stations making transport very easy. You can even reach Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord by walking. The rooms were very clean and have more or less everything what you expect from a ***-hotel. Even if space is somewhat limited, the hotel exudes an enjoyable atmosphere, especially in the breakfast room.

No free Wifi. You can use Wifi offered by Orange France (several pricing schemes for short-time oder continuous use). There is free Internet on a single PC in the lobby. No reasonably big lockers. You can deposit small (!) valuables in little lockers near the reception, but particularly no notebooks nor big cameras.

Room was much smaller than website would lead you to believe-but thats dead on for what we wantied it for and how much we were paying. Walls thin so could hear people in corridor. Again no real concern.

Would like to have a small tea/coffee maker (hot water) in the room Breakfast is expensive in order to what you can actually get (would like more kinds of bread, hot drinks, juice, warm eggs (they were cold), maybe some warm food as well.
