Sévigné Hotel * *

Everything! can only define my experience in this hotel unacceptable. No service, no staff, we where out in a hour.

Room is very small, Paris is expensive

I am very disappointed with the management. The rate posted for the room was 140 euros. The front office charged us 170 euros as that was the rate management posted in his spreadsheet. The rate posted in the room, at the front desk, outside of the hotel all stated 140 euros. I feel cheated and expected a response from management and still have not heard back from management.

We booked an upgraded room and were given a smaller room. We had to move rooms after 2 days. The staff moved all of our stuff for us.

The picture of the top page of hotel web is misleading, which gives us an impression the Hotel Sevigne is a fairly big hotel. Due to this misunderstanding, it took me almost half an hour to find the hotel from the Saint Paul station (which is located 30 seconds from the hotel by foot). I sought only a large buildings then.

The room upstairs staff did not want to give me towels. I had two good towels on day one, one clean towel the next day and none the third day, .. .. on the third day, someone picked up what may have been a damp towel and hung it up to dry, and that is what I had the third day. .. had to use a cloth I had in my bag. The desk clerk was quite helpful with my making a phone call to the usa, but he did not know what to do when I asked about the towels. he said he would take care of it in the morning but that did not happen. I guess he meant he would tell the staff upstairs, but the staff did not come in until after I had used the bath. Bed: my bed 62 was about 8 inches too narrow. On my second day, there was no breakfast as the lady did not come in. .. .. but I got a free crosiont.

Old and rundown, mold in bathroom, stains on curtains, sheets and towels. Towels were threadbare and barely worth using. Very noisy street and windows did not do much to dampen the noise. Had to ask for towels one day and couldn't get them until the next morning. Came back one evening to a locked front door and had to wait outside for front desk person to return from wherever he had gone. Would not recommend this hotel to others.

Very simple. Maybe not for kings and princesses. The breakfast room is very small.

The rooms and corridors really need a refurbishment and brightening up. The location is excellent and if the decor was updated then the hotel could be very popular.

Could be a bit noisy because our room faced onto the street.

Room too small

The beds are mediocre. The carpet could be replaced - that would probably reduce the barely lingering smokey smell. Other than that, the hotel is a perfect place to stay.

Nothing really. Be aware that the lift only goes to the fifth floor, so you'd have to walk up a flight with cases etc. .. It would have been nice to have had a small fridge in the room, and there's certainly space for one.
