In the close neighbourhood of Argelès Gazost, you can find: Gavarnie and its famous Cirque - The Waterfalls Valley of Cauterets with the “Pont d’Espagne” and the Gaube lake - The Pic du Midi and its Astronomical Observatory - Pau, a Royal and English City - The Artouste lake and the Highest little train in Europe ... and of course, Lourdes, the second most popular pilgrimage centre of the world, only 13 km north by the new dual carriage way.

Thanks to the Tour de France, we are also strongly associated with cycling:

Col du Tourmalet, Col d’Aubisque, Col du Soulor, Hautacam, Luz Ardiden, Col d’Aspin ...

From a rambling and hiking point of view, Argelès-Gazost, crossroads at the core of the Central Pyrenees, makes as well an excellent base where any level is possible.
